This page is the single intake point for requests to remove or redact information on a Ratings.bd listing. It covers both the Bangladesh Data Protection Act (draft 2023) and the GDPR, which applies extraterritorially to visitors located in the EU/EEA.
Who can request a takedown
- The data subject — the doctor or healthcare professional whose profile is affected.
- An authorised representative — an institution’s communications lead, a legal counsel on retainer, or a spouse/family member with documented power of attorney.
- A patient who finds their own identifying information embedded in a published review (this should already be blocked by our review-moderation rules — please flag if it slipped through).
What we will remove
- Personal contact information you never intended to be public (home address, personal mobile, non-public email).
- Outdated credentials or affiliations you no longer hold.
- Reviews that contain patient-identifying information.
- The entire profile, subject to identity verification and a short written explanation.
What requires more conversation
- Negative reviews that are factually accurate — we will not remove a published review solely because it is critical. If the review violates our editorial policy (unverified malpractice claims, patient PII, hate speech), flag the specific violation and we will act within 7 days.
- Aggregate rating — we can redact author identity on anonymization, but the numeric average remains (it is not personal data, it is a statistic).
- Publicly-registered credentials — BMDC registration, fellowship titles, and other public-registry data are governed by the registrar, not us. We mirror public information; disputes go to the issuing body.
What we need from you
- The URL of the listing or review.
- A one-line summary of the specific field or line you want changed.
- Proof of identity — a scanned ID, a letterhead email from an institutional address, or a BMDC / DGHS / DGDA registration number we can cross-check.
- For representative requests: a scanned authorisation signed by the data subject.
Our response time
- Acknowledgement within 3 business days — we confirm receipt and, if needed, ask for missing documents.
- Decision within 14 days — we either apply the change or return a written explanation.
- Emergency safety issues (doxxing, stalking, active harm) jump the queue. Mark the subject line
EMERGENCY.

If we decline
You can appeal an editorial decision in writing. If the dispute involves a claim under the Bangladesh Data Protection Act, we will cooperate with the designated data-protection authority once it is constituted. For GDPR requests, you have the right to contact the supervisory authority in your EU/EEA jurisdiction.
